Looking for Beta Readers!

Hi, everyone! I'm working hard on Different, the first book in the Tainted Elements series, and I have one tiny request to make. Since I'll be finishing the book soon, I'd like to find some beta readers to help me. Don't know what a beta reader is? Well, here is the definition from Wikipedia: "beta reader (also pre-reader or critiquer), is a non-professional reader who reads a written work, generally fiction, with the intent of looking over the material to find and improve elements such as grammar and spelling, as well as suggestions to improve the story, its characters, or its setting." I'm basically looking for someone to read my book before the final edits and help me improve it.

However, I must warn you that this is not always an easy job and it can be time consuming, so please only apply if you can meet the deadline and have enough free time to do it because I'm hoping to receive a detailed feedback and not a simple "I liked it. I didn't like it." The book should be around 60000 words long, which is approximately 240-250 pages and I expect to receive your feedback in two weeks from the time I send you the manuscript. I plan to send out the manuscript around March 9, so you should be able to read it by March 23 and get back to me. We'll work out the details if I pick you to be my beta.

Are you wondering what you get in return? Well, you get to read the book before anyone else and you'll receive an ebook version of the book when it comes out. :)

Now a little about the book in question. Different (Tainted Elements, #1) is a spin-off series of my Element Preservers series, and I'm looking both for readers who did and who didn't read the EP series. Different is a YA/NA fantasy/romance book and it follows an 18-year-old girl, Moira, who lives in a world very similar to ours, but in which everyone is born with one of the four elements. However, mixing of elements (having children with someone who has a different element) has consequences, such as the baby ending up with a weaker element (a sub-element) or developing magic disease (which can turn the person into a killer because he/she wants to take other people's elements). Moira's case is a little bit different (yeah, like the title :P) because her mother decided to manipulate Moira's genes before she was born so she would inherit only one pure element. Things worked out perfectly, or so everyone thought, but as Moira gets older, she develops abilities that she shouldn't have and has symptoms similar to those of magic disease. As she tries to find out what is happening to her, she will stumble upon a small group of people with abilities similar to hers and uncover some very dangerous secrets that could change her world forever. *insert evil laugh here* I should really come up with a blurb for this book, but for now this will have to do. Yes, there will be romance and sexual content and some adult language, so if you want to read this book, you should be comfortable with adult content and be at least 18 years old.

Still interested? Great! Fill out the form below. The form will be open until March 6. Please only apply through this form or your application won't be considered. Thank you so much for your interest!
